Autism Care Training – Adults (4–8 Weeks)
This 4–8 week foundational training is designed for individuals who provide care and support to adults on the autism spectrum. Ideal for caregivers, support workers, and healthcare professionals, this course offers practical strategies to enhance the well-being, independence, and inclusion of neurodiverse adults in home or community settings.
Admission Requirements:
✔ Minimum CLB English level 4
✔ Canadian high school diploma or equivalent
✔ Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate (Required prior to or during the course)
Course Overview:
✔ Understanding Autism in Adulthood – Characteristics, needs, and strengths of adults with ASD
✔ Communication Strategies – Supporting verbal and non-verbal communication effectively
✔ Promoting Independence – Encouraging life skills, routines, and autonomy
✔ Emotional & Sensory Regulation – Tools to support behavioral responses and sensory needs
✔ Respectful Care Approaches – Person-centered strategies and inclusive care practices
✔ Hands-On Learning – In-person training and practical exercises
✔ Self-Paced Theory – Core materials delivered via Teachable
